01 Project Overview
NX-DraftMaster Sync is an enterprise-grade extension developed for Siemens NX. It addresses the critical challenge of managing concurrent design changes in large-scale engineering projects, ensuring that drafts from multiple engineers are seamlessly synchronized without data loss or overriding conflicts.
The Challenge
A major manufacturing client faced significant delays and costly rework due to design conflicts. Engineers working on the same sub-assemblies often overwrote each other’s changes, and the existing PLM checkout system was too rigid for agile design iterations.
Our Solution
We engineered a C++ based plugin that introduces Git-like branching and merging capabilities directly into the NX CAD environment. It visualizes differences between part versions in 3D, allows selective merging of features, and automatically syncs the final approved state back to the central PLM system.
